exhibition 'based on nature'

exhibition 'based on nature'

Thomas Eyck, located in a typical Frisian farmhouse in the UNESCO World Heritage Wadden Sea Region, annually
invites artists and designers to design objects in a chosen material. This has led to a coherent and internationally renowned collection.

This year Leeuwarden-Friesland is the Cultural Capital of 2018, therefore Thomas Eyck opens his doors to the public. The exhibition is built around the theme of nature and shows work by Irma Boom, Christien Meindertsma, Studio Brynjar & Veronika, Studio Wieki Somers, Atelier NL, RaR, Aliki van der Kruijs, Alegria van der Zande and Studio Maarten Kolk & Guus Kusters.

Especially for this exhibition, Alegria, Maarten & Guus and Aliki designed new objects based on the Wadden Sea Region.

In addition to work from his own collection, Thomas Eyck is proud to show work by his favorite artist Erik Andriesse (1957-1993) and the monumental Tree Track by Christien Meindertsma.
